Shelomo Alfassa

​

Shel donates thousands of hours each year as a uniformed member of the Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, a national service organization. There, he serves as a Public Affairs Officer, and a Branch Chief on the national Emergency Management staff.

​

He also has served as a volunteer for New York Rescue Response Team (NYRRT), a New York City-based search and rescue group, where he was an EMS Lieutenant. Previous to this, he volunteered 8 years with the disaster services team of the American Red Cross, responding to many different hurricanes.

​

Shel values civic responsibility and providing service to his community.
